Careers — The Healing Haven SLC · Salt Lake City
Now hiring in Salt Lake City — a four-day week and a hard 32-session cap
Careers · Salt Lake City

Four days a week. Thirty-two sessions, maximum.

We are hiring clinicians — and we would rather tell you the whole compensation structure up front than make you guess at it through three interviews.

The Healing Haven SLC therapy office in downtown Salt Lake City
Why this posting reads differently

You already know what the other version looks like.

A generous-sounding fee split. An unstated caseload expectation that turns out to be twenty-eight. A bonus formula nobody will put in writing. Documentation you do at nine at night because the day was full of clients. Helen built this practice after leaving that — so the schedule here is a rule, not a value statement, and the pay math is published rather than promised.

One

The cap is real

Eight sessions a day, four days, thirty-two a week. We will not raise it when the waitlist grows, and we will not raise it for you. It is enforced in the scheduling system, not in a handbook.

Two

Full pay at sixteen

On-target earnings land at sixteen sessions a week — roughly half of what most group practices call a full caseload. Sitting at sixteen is a complete job here, not a phase you grow out of.

Three

W2, not a split

Base salary you get paid whether or not clients show. The practice covers employer taxes, unemployment, workers comp, and your malpractice. Compare the take-home, not the headline percentage.

The structure

Numbers you can check with a calculator.

Base salary plus a fixed per-session bonus, published in the job description before you ever speak to us. No discretionary pool. No profitability permitting. No conversation in December where the formula turns out to have had an asterisk.

4
Day work week

Clinicians cannot be scheduled a fifth day. It is a scheduling rule, not a perk we hope you use.

32
Weekly session cap

Eight a day, four days. The hard ceiling, because past that is where burnout lives.

16
Sessions to on-target

Full expected earnings at sixteen. Everything above it is genuinely optional upside.

$1.5–3k
Optional monthly upside

For clinicians who want to push. Honestly: that range starts around twenty-two sessions, not twenty.

Open roles

Three seats, all hybrid.

In-office in downtown Salt Lake City and telehealth, from day one, with the mix largely your call. Full descriptions, complete pay tables, and the application live on our hiring site.

Helen DeLovely, LCSW — Founder and Clinical Director of The Healing Haven SLC
Who you would be joining

Small on purpose. Founder-led.

The Healing Haven SLC is a somatic, holistic therapy practice in downtown Salt Lake City, founded by Helen DeLovely, LCSW. Neurodivergent-affirming and LGBTQ+ affirming, for our clients and for the people who work here.

There is no layer between you and the person making decisions. You will run your own caseload, decide who is a fit for you, and write your notes during work hours in a system built to keep documentation short. The front office handles scheduling, superbills, and client questions, so you are not chasing your own payments.

Some of the systems here are still being built, and your opinion about them will actually change them. Some people find that energizing and some find it stressful. We would rather say so now.

Before you apply

The honest fine print.

Is that annual number competitive?

On-target sits below the Salt Lake City salary average, and we are not going to dress that up. It is below average because it is a four-day, sixteen-session week. Per hour worked it comes out around $44 for the LCSW role. The comparison that is actually fair is per hour and per session, plus the schedule you keep. If maximizing annual income is your priority, a practice with no cap will pay you more, and we would rather you go there than resent us.

Can I work more than thirty-two sessions?

No. Not in a busy week, not to cover a colleague, not by request. The cap is the point.

I am a CSW. Does a four-day week slow down my licensure hours?

Yes, and we say so plainly in the job description rather than letting you find out later. Fewer sessions per week means more weeks to reach Utah's supervised-hour requirement. You can work up toward the cap to shorten that timeline while still working four days. Please confirm current requirements directly with the Utah Division of Professional Licensing yourself.

Do you take insurance? Will that affect my pay?

The practice is private-pay first, with superbills available for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and several payer relationships in development. Your bonus is a fixed dollar amount per completed session regardless of how that session is paid for, so payer mix does not change your paycheck.

What does the hiring process look like?

Three steps. A short intro call of about twenty minutes where we answer any number question directly. A longer conversation with Helen about how you work. Then a working conversation in the office, so you can see the space and meet the people before deciding. We tell you where you stand at every step, including when the answer is no.

I am not looking right now, but I am curious.

Reach out anyway. We would rather know good clinicians before we need them, and we will tell you honestly whether and when a seat is likely to open.

Whenever you are ready

Read the whole thing before you decide.

Every role has its full pay table, its day-to-day, and an honest section on who the job is not for. Applications take about five minutes.
